Super Friends Colorforms - 1974

sgEverybody remembers Colorforms, don't they?

I had this set back when I was a kid, and a few years ago found it again on ebay (it was a rarity in that it still had almost all of its pieces). It's sort of amazing, now that I think about it, how much simpler kids toys were when I was a kid--you moved around these little plastic, one-color pieces and...that's it! And yet as a kid I loved colorforms, and had lots of them.

Aquaman-wise, this set came with Aquaman in two different poses, plus a dolphin, some fish, and an octopus. Oddly, it also comes with Quisp, a now-very-obscure occasionally recurring character from the Aquaman book. It looks like most of the pieces are traces of art by various DC artists like Carmine Infantino, Nick Cardy, and Mike Sekowsky (this set contains one of the earliest JLA villians from what looks like a swipe from the cover of Justice League of America #11, which is also strange since Mike had been gone from JLA about eight years by the time they made this set).

It's Colorforms-Fun!

Doesn't this game package look remarkably like that cover of Fawcett's America's Greatest Comics with Capt. Marvel, Bulletman and all the Fawcett superheroes on it?
